2 December 2019, Beekeeper, creator of the first operational communication platform for non-desk workforces, is celebrating winning an award at the Hotel Cateys recently. Beekeeper was awarded the prestigious title for ‘Best Use of Technology’ for its work with Exclusive Collection, beating off competition from Cairn Group and The Lowry Hotel.
Beekeeper and Exclusive Collection won the ‘Best Use of Technology’ award which covers everything from loyalty and data management tools to communication and marketing. The award recognises the businesses and individuals delivering technology innovation that has made a tangible difference to their businesses in the last 12 months.
Beekeeper and Exclusive Collection’s teams were successful at the Hotel Cateys following their project which connected, informed, and enhanced engagement amongst Exclusive Collection’s multi-site, non-desk based 1,200 strong workforce.
Dr. Cristian Grossmann, CEO, Beekeeper said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won the Hotel Catey for our work with Exclusive Collection. This type of organisation is exactly where our idea for the platform came from. Hotel teams are notoriously difficult to communicate across, which often leads to operational challenges for the business.
“We have worked closely with Exclusive Collection to ensure that Beekeeper works for its specific needs and focuses not only on areas like communications, but also health and safety and shift schedules.”
The Hotel Cateys Awards Ceremony has been a tradition within the hotel industry for the last 12 years. The Hotel Cateys were created to recognise and reward those individuals and teams that work tirelessly to make sure their business delivers an exceptional guest experience, day in, day out.
Chris Tod, Group Learning and Development Manager, Exclusive Collection, said: “For me, Beekeeper has been one of the single biggest changes we’ve made to the way we work in the past 10 years. It has revolutionised the way we communicate as a business and has enabled us to create a real community. I couldn’t imagine working without it. To win this award recognising the work we put into improving our employee engagements just tops off a great project.”
Exclusive introduced the Beekeeper app to all staff in April 2018, and saw employee engagement immediately start to rise within their 1,200 person team.
Since implementing Beekeeper, over 90% of the Exclusive team has used the tool to showcase the company’s core values, share ideas and best practices, and communicate operational information more efficiently. Every manager uses the mobile platform to communicate updates such as rotas, shift schedules, and policies and procedures to empower employees with the information and tools they need to perform their job duties.
