Premium boutique hotel set to become the natural habitat for the curious traveller
Park Plaza Vondelpark, Amsterdam has officially reopened its doors in the Dutch capital’s Oud-Zuid neighbourhood, bringing beautiful rooms, authentic experiences and a ‘secret garden’ to the city’s central point.
Adjacent to the famous Vondelpark, the premium boutique hotel’s multi-million Euro transformation draws inspiration from the birds of Vondelpark, combining their colourful and vibrant nature with the creative spirit of Amsterdam to offer a unique and welcoming space for guests that – like the birds of the park – have travelled far to be there.
In collaboration with a design team led by Digital Space with local Lieze van Zonneveld, the hotel’s 102 rooms have been remodelled to bring a touch of nature in. Streams of natural light highlight the sleek, metallic features within each area, with soft and comfy lounge chairs, sofas and throws adding splashes of colour and a home-from-home, for curious travellers. Luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding, walk-in rainfall showers, smart TVs and in a nod to its locale, natural materials such as hand-crafted oak and beautiful greenery, provide the final touches.
A stone’s throw from the park itself, those who flock to the hotel will find themselves within a diverse community full of colourful characters – not to mention some of the city’s best galleries, museums and cultural highlights. With the area’s refined collection of brasseries and boutique shops only a short stroll away, an authentic experience awaits each guest hoping to seek and find the very best that Amsterdam has to offer.
After a busy day of exploring the local area, guests can return to the hotel and relax in its ‘secret garden’, or seek out the bird graphics around the hotel’s staircases created by Lieze van Zonneveld, that reflects its location close to the city’s most popular open space.
