STEVEN LAINE HIRED TO LEAD THE LANDMARK LONDON’S CORE HOTEL TEAM AND DAY-TO-DAY RUNNING OF THE LUXURY FIVE-STAR GRANDE DAME HOTEL
Five-star Grande Dame hotel, The Landmark London in Marylebone, has appointed Steven Laine as Hotel Manager to head up the hotel team and oversee the property’s major refurbishment, including the introduction of new F&B outlets.
Steven Laine brings with him 23 years of experience in the hospitality sector, having worked in globally renowned hotels across the world, including The Ritz London, JW Marriott Grosvenor House London, Madinat Jumeirah Dubai, and Pan Pacific Singapore Hotel.
Laine is joining The Landmark London from an Executive Assistant Manager role at Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club, Anguilla. Here he was responsible for the pre-opening of F&B operations across all dining outlets in the Resort, including restaurants, bars and in-room dining. Steven can apply this knowledge and experience, as he joins the hotel during an exciting, major refurbishment across three of The Landmark London’s F&B outlets: The renowned Winter Garden restaurant, a brand new Champagne Bar on the Garden Terrace, and the recent launch of Great Central Pub by Matt Fletcher, as well as aspects of the wider public spaces within the hotel.
With an MBA in Hospitality from the University of Guelph, Canada, Laine’s wealth of experience stands him in good stead for his return to London and new role as Hotel Manager at The Landmark London. Leading the front of house and hotel team, he will be responsible for the management and running of the hotel and supporting on recruitment and training.
Laine brings with him a clear vision to operate sustainably with the guest in mind, having previous experience in improving operational functionality and enhancing the guest journey in over nine international locations. With great exposure to overseas hospitality standards, delivering luxury to The Landmark London’s discerning clientele is a key priority. Laine also joins at a significant time for the hotel, as it gears up to celebrate its 125th Anniversary. His key role will be to engage guests and personnel in this milestone for the hotel, which is already an accredited Leading Hotel of the World.
The latest senior addition to The Landmark’s growing team, Laine is working towards a WSET Diploma, and is a member of the Académie du Champagne. He has previously worked at two wineries and is an accredited wine scholar – specialising in Italian, Spanish, French and Canadian wines. He will play an incremental and forward-facing role in the launch of The Landmark London’s Champagne Bar and the ongoing success of the venture.
