A first for Thailand, from 6th to 12th June, Kata Rocks will pay homage to one of the world’s greatest cocktails at the 4th annual Negroni Week. Launched in 2013, to raise money for charitable causes around the world, Negroni Week grew from 100 participating venues to more than 3,500 bars around the world and raised closed to $500,000 for charities just last year. In celebration of this, The Bar at Kata Rocks will celebrate this charitable event by offering a unique take on this iconic cocktail. The talented mixologists at Kata Rocks will be mixing up a combination of classic Negronis and unique, signature Negronis with a local twist.
The selection of Negronis firstly includes the Ginger Negroni. Spicy and flavourful and described as a must try, this is a twist on the classic featuring homemade ginger-infused gin and Campari & Red Vermouth. Another is The Lemongrass Infused Negroni, a mix of homemade lemongrass, delicately balanced with Campari and Red Vermouth complemented with a fresh lemongrass stirrer for a smooth with a soft finish. For an old-style Negroni with a Kata Rocks, ‘Rock Star’ twist, the mycologists also have on their limited edition menu The Original Negroni – made with limited Ironball Gin from Thailand and described as the ultimate for Negroni aficionados.
With ice made only with premium water and only the most exclusive glassware, Kata Rock’s selection of Negroni cocktails will be served alongside the luxury resort’s new tapas menu, highlighting and encompassing the very latest culinary experiences at Kata Rocks. Contributing to this prestigious cause, the team behind the bar at Kata Rocks have selected the ‘Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation’. A local, Phuket based and non-profit charity, the cause teaches English to over 1,000 children in three Royal Thai Government schools locally. Part of the profit made from each Negroni sold at Kata Rocks will be donated to this local cause.
