Once home to cricketing legend Dr W G Grace, the Victoria Square Hotel in Clifton, Bristol, has been sold by hospitality specialist Simon Wells from Colliers International.
The popular stone built Grade II-listed hotel which dates back to the 1860s overlooks a leafy square and was sold off an asking price of £1,750,000.
Simon said: “The Victoria Square hotel consists of two buildings in a superb leafy location in the heart of Clifton just a mile or so from the city centre. One look at the books will tell you this property offers serious investment potential.” The hotel offers 41 letting bedrooms in two neighbouring detached properties.
The sale is the pick of a hatful of deals Simon Wells has brokered across the West as the region’s hotels sector continues to attract investment. He said: “We have half a dozen and more deals lined up which are due to go over the line in time for Christmas or the New Year.
“The hospitality sector has been very busy for the past two years – but the sheer number of deals going through will guarantee a happy Christmas for the buyers who were lucky enough to snap up a property. Not all the buyers we have been talking to have managed to secure their dream hotel or pub of course.
“The sales are spread all over the West, but the common denominator is that all our buyers are experienced operators in the hospitality sector. They recognise that there are still opportunities out there – but you have to chase.
