Island Grill Celebrates British Cheese Month

Throughout the month of June 2016, Island Grill will be cutting the cheese to offer a platter of brie-lliant cheeses in celebration of British Cheese Month.

With over 700 differently named cheeses in Britain, Island Grill has sorted the Gouda from the grate with its offering. The Caerphilly selected cheese platter will feature four cheeses accompanied by a selection of distinctive port wines, available throughout the month of June.

The platter will include a hard-pressed Spenwood cheese paired with a Malbec Tilia from Argentinia (2014); a mild, semi-soft Guernsey milk Waterloo cheese paired with Friendly Gruner-Veltliner Laurenz V; a young moist Kentish Blue paired with Castillo Clavijo Rioja Crianza; and a goat’s milk Golden Cross cheese paired with Sancerre ‘Le Manoir’, Domaine Andre Neveu or Chablis, Domaine Vrignaud.

The cheese platter is priced at £9.50 per person, while the cheese platter with wine pairings is priced at £17.00 per person.

Island Grill, at the iconic mid-century Lancaster London, is located ten paces from Lancaster Gate Underground Station and offers a contemporary split-level dining space overlooking Hyde Park.
