Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay launches innovative WhatsApp service to answer guest queries

Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay continues to integrate social media trends into their CRM efforts by introducing a pre-allocated WhatsApp number on which guests can contact the hotel directly from anywhere on the island, and for any service they require during their stay. In February 2016, WhatsApp Messenger counted one billion people worldwide – nearly one in seven – using the app. This innovative service follows from the hotel’s ongoing ‘Twitter by the Pool’ service.

 
With the introduction of this service, hotel guests no longer need to wait to get back to the hotel before they can make an enquiry or reservation, such as restaurant and tour bookings or transport requirements, for example.
“This and similar initiatives are a way of putting our Craftsmanship of Care philosophy into practice”, said Stuart Chappell, General Manager of Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay. “We do not simply provide a given service to the best of our ability, but we also want to ensure that our guests are able to use that service with the least effort and using a media that they are familiar with.”

 
This new WhatsApp initiative follows on the very popular ‘Twitter by the Pool’ service, whereby hotel guests relaxing at the hotel’s expansive Lido can simply tweet their food and drink orders through to the pool bar & restaurant by quoting their umbrella number. Their order is then promptly delivered to them at their location, without guests having to get off their sunbed.

 
WhatsApp Messenger is a cross-platform mobile messaging app which allows you to exchange messages without having to pay for SMS. WhatsApp Messenger is available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, Android and Nokia.
