Indulge your taste buds this Mother’s Day at Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa

Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk locals can celebrate the ladies who make their lives special this Mother’s Day with Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa. Recently crowned Best Hotel at the Norfolk & Suffolk Tourism Awards, for Mothering Sunday on 22 March, the four Red Star luxury Hotel in Newmarket has created an exclusive three-course menu, for families to celebrate together and enjoy in the atmospheric Squires restaurant.

 

Created by award-winning Executive Head Chef, Sean Melville, the Mother’s Day menu will comprise of a variety of traditional dishes with a modern flair. To start, guests can choose from luxurious king scallops with roe salt, beetroot puree, apple matchsticks and fennel cress, or BBQ heritage baby carrots, spinach and wild garlic puree, charred leek and carrot ketchup. For mains, guests can savour the taste of a classic roast sirloin of grass-fed beef and Yorkshire pudding, served with roast potatoes and thyme gravy, or, for a vegetarian option, a delicious flowering red onion tart, with confit cherry tomato, goats cheese crumb and truffle mash.

Even after all my years in the industry, I still get a huge amount of pleasure experimenting with what wonderful food can be created and how it can enhance occasions. Don’t forget to leave room for dessert – the chocolate fondant is not one to be missed!”

 

The menu culminates in a mouth-watering selection of desserts. Guests can satisfy their sweet tooth with an exquisite raspberry Eton mess sphere, served with a pink gin and raspberry gel, Chantilly cream and French meringue. Alternatively, diners can tantalize their taste buds with the kitchen team’s unique creation; mint and dark chocolate fondant. The decadent dessert is served with Matchmakers, chocolate soil and mint gel.
