HOTEL BUSINESS UNIFIES HR STRATEGY ACROSS FOUR PROPERTIES AS IT PLANS TO GROW TEAM SIZE TO 1,000 EMPLOYEES

Nicola Forshaw has been appointed Group Director of Human Resources for The Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company, a global collection of luxury hotels, including The Landmark London, Royal Lancaster, K West Hotel & Spa and Basil Street Apartments.

Led by core values of Respect, Integrity and Continuous Improvement, The Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company’s HR strategy is an intrinsic part of the company vision and purpose. This new role will enable the business to create a unified approach to Human Resources across all its properties for the first time as it continues to invest in the wellbeing of its people and seeks to expand the size of its team from 700 to 1,000 employees in 2022.

Nicola Forshaw will report into Fergus Stewart, Deputy Managing Director of The Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company. As Group Director of Human Resources, Nicola and her team of 14 will deliver on the business’ ongoing mission to reach an outstanding level of quality in people management, engagement and wellbeing, ensuring that each property has a flexible and agile working culture that supports team members and delivers excellence for their guests.

By unifying the HR strategy across all venues, the business will share best practice and create a common company culture.

Nicola will bring her outstanding experience as Director of Human Resources at The Landmark London to this new role. In her previous position, Nicola was part of the senior team that secured the hotel’s ‘Investors in People’ Platinum Level Accreditation and its place as number four in the acclaimed The Sunday Times’ ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ list. Throughout her time at The Landmark London, Nicola delivered innovative new HR policies, most recently an initiative to enable the hotel’s chefs to work a four-day week, with increased pay. 

In November 2019, The Landmark London was amongst the first hotels to sign up to ‘Our Hospitality Commitment’, a voluntary code of conduct working with People 1st International, to support the hospitality industry in continuing to offer diverse opportunities and fantastic careers.
