CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR AT THE BARCELONA EDITION

CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR AT THE BARCELONA EDITION

This year, The Barcelona EDITION is celebrating this festive season with an array of enticing holiday offerings. As the city’s luxurious cultural hotspot, the hotel is bringing elegance and sophistication to Barcelona this Christmas and New Year. From a sophisticated vintage Christmas Tree, Christmas menus at its signature restaurant Bar Veraz, to a New Year’s Recovery Brunch at The Roof, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Christmas Tree

The Barcelona EDITION has transferred the sophistication of the luxurious dining salons in which Barcelona families celebrated their Christmas dinners to their lobby this Christmas. Designed by Solange Ruibal, a Barcelona-based art director and set designer for film and theatre. Her specially commissioned Christmas Tree at The Barcelona EDITION is made up of hundreds of vintage pieces made of glass from old chandeliers that once decorated the noble bourgeois apartments of Barcelona at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.

Keeping recycling in mind throughout the design process, the main ornaments consist of vintage glass beads with transparent and light-reflecting crystals that bounce light across the space. With sustainability at the forefront, the tree has been grown in the mountains of Montseny in a small, local farm. After its time adorning The Barcelona EDITION, it will be collected, turned into compost and used as a natural fertiliser for other trees. The tree farm will give part of the funds raised to different Catalan solidarity projects such as La Marató de TV3, dedicated to raising awareness and research in mental health.
