HERALD INTRODUCES COMPOSTABLE AQUEOUS CUPS

Food services supplier adds double and ripple wall fully compostable, aqueous cups to its eco-friendly range

Quality disposables manufacturer and supplier, Herald has launched a selection of 100 per cent compostable, aqueous hot cups as part of its environmentally-friendly range – with both double and ripple wall options.

Supplying to meet the increased demand from the catering and food to go sectors, for fully sustainable and greener products, Herald has prioritised providing an additional ripple wall option, not commonly offered in a completely compostable form, along with a selection of sizes. These sizes – 8 oz, 12 oz and 16 oz – complement the lids Herald currently has available, allowing existing customers to make the switch to the 100 per cent compostable, aqueous product without having to invest in new lids.

Managing director of Herald, Yogesh Patel comments on the change in the market over the last 12 months, with more establishments choosing to go fully bio-degradable with their packaging and disposables: “The increase in takeaway options for cafes, restaurants and pubs means that the market has expanded for disposable cups and many of these new customers are conscious of their own customers’ environmental considerations.

“The environment was an increasingly sensitive issue pre-Covid and making eco-friendly choices is one thing that people feel they can still take control of during the pandemic. For us, at Herald, our task is to respond to the market, while providing as much choice as possible and maintaining the competitive pricing structure that we’re known for.”

Other products in Herald’s eco range include a wider selection of single, double and triple wall cups and a choice of eco sip lids made from CPLA, a renewable material created from plants. The company has also expanded its range of bagasse items to include square, round and rectangle plates, in varying sizes, along with bowls and hot boxes, chip trays, burger boxes, noodle boxes and other lunch boxes – all of which are in great demand.
