Following an extensive refurbishment programme a new country hotel in the Highlands, The Cluanie Inn, has opened its doors.
Part of the Black Sheep Hotel group, a collection of Highland country hotels, the opening of The Cluanie Inn at Glenmoriston follows the recent opening of Rokeby Manor formerly Craigard Guest House) at Invergarry and soon to be opened Whispering Pine Lodge (formerly Letterfinlay Lodge) at Spean Bridge.
Dating back to 1787, the Cluanie Inn is a well-established local landmark, located in Glen Shiel on the way to the Isle of Skye. It started as a staging post for cattle drovers and was earlier known as ‘Rhiabuie’.
The hotel, ideally located to explore the Highlands, has 18 en-suite bedrooms. These character-filled rooms boast wilderness views and are spacious and cosy Accompanied by modern amenities this allows guests to experience truly affordable luxury in the Highlands.
The hotel also offers some exclusive overnight packages including a romantic getaway offering, gorge walking and white-water rafting, allowing visitors to explore the Highlands and learn more about its’ fascinating history.

The property was bought by the Black Sheep Hotel group, which is under the ownership of Mumbai-based hospitality company, Mars Enterprise and Hospitality. Its owner, entrepreneur Sanjay Narang purchased the property following his visit to the Highlands in 2018.
Mr Narang, who was disappointed with his stay in the Highlands, decided along with sister Rachna to invest in three properties across the area as a result of his visit. £3 million was invested in buying the properties with a further invested another £9 million in refurbishing them.

The other properties in the collection, Rokeby Manor at Invergarry and The Whispering Pine Cottage, formerly the Letterfinlay Lodge in Spean Bridge are due to open later this summer.
