The Courtyard by Marriott Oxford South has launched its signature all-day dining experience, The Oxen Bar and Grill, the perfect sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of today’s hectic life, whether you are dining for business or pleasure.
“Not only have we taken great care to create a very special, sophisticated but relaxed atmosphere for The Oxen, we have also worked extremely hard to ensure that we offer a premium yet casual dining experience,” said Michael Shaw, general manager of the Courtyard by Marriott by Oxford South.
The hotel’s head chef, Andrew Carr, has spent months in the run up to the launch of The Oxen sourcing the best possible local meat supplier.
“Andrew selected Martins Meats, based in the heart of the Cotswolds and the home of the rare-breed Longhorn cattle, as it will produce, age, cut and pack the finest Longhorn and traditional breeds of beef for The Oxen,” said Shaw.
Martins Meat will also supply the head chef with Gloucester Old Spot and Middle White pork, Cotswold reared lamb and free-range poultry and game.
With its leather snugs, locally inspired detail, exposed brickwork and handwoven textiles The Oxen offers an intimate setting that is the perfect antidote for the busiest of people.
The Oxen, which has an open pizza kitchen, will provide both seasonal British-inspired and international cuisine in a stylish setting which also includes an alfresco dining terrace and an urban lounge bar.
“The Oxen is already establishing itself as the local ‘go-to’ dining experience, largely due to our head chef taking his inspiration from fresh, seasonal produce. Popular menu choices include our 35-day aged Longhorn steaks, our signature fired pizzas and flavourful locally inspired eats that work at any hour,” said Shaw.
To offer a truly special dining plus experience, The Oxen will soon be holding monthly music nights when diners will be able to enjoy fine dining plus live music.
