Football kick off in 2017 at Corinthia Hotel St Petersburg

Russia will grab the spotlight of the world’s football calendar next summer when the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup international association football tournament takes place in four host cities across the country between 17th June and 2nd July.

Taking place in Sochi, Kazan, Moscow and St Petersburg, the Confederations Cup is the prelude to the 2018 FIFA World Cup. At a draw last Saturday, Russia will play New Zealand in the opening game at the St Petersburg Stadium in St Petersburg on 17th June 2017.

St Petersburg will also play host to games on 22nd June, 24th June and the final on 2nd July.

Corinthia Hotel St Petersburg is gearing up for the flood of visitors to the city at its Nevsky Prospect location in the heart of the city. The hotel’s location is ideal, halfway between the airport and football stadium.

As the largest five-star hotel in the city and with facilities suitable for groups, it will provide a sharp contrast to the rabble-rousing atmosphere in the stadium: two majestic 19th-century buildings house the 388-room luxury hotel, with staff providing refined hospitality, superior service and inspired luxury. Its restaurants and bars offer everything from caviar and blinis to humbler dishes.
