BFM IS SOURCE OF INFORMATION FOR NEW APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME

Everything you need to know about the new government apprenticeship scheme in furniture manufacture Level 2 can be found on The British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM) website. Developed by the furniture industry, the new scheme replaces the current apprenticeship framework from December 1 2016.

It includes: general furniture manufacturer, bed manufacturer, modern upholsterers, furniture furnisher, fitted furniture installer, furniture restorer, modern furniture service repairer, foam converter and upholstery cushion interior manufacturer, wood machinist and furniture CNC specialist.

Said Jackie Bazeley, BFM md: “Apprenticeships are a great way to enhance a company’s work force, developing skills and bringing a fresh perspective on board. Our website is currently the only essential source of information on the new scheme and we are encouraging all those interested in hiring an apprentice to take a look.”

The BFM has also developed a number of guides to support employers and providers interested in the new education standards.
