The British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM) has teamed up with Heico Fasteners UK to add a new category to the annual upholstery Design Competition at this year’s January Furniture Show, (Birmingham NEC 22 – 25 January).
In its eighth successful year, the competition is an ideal opportunity for budding industry students to showcase their products, promote their skills and workmanship to a large audience of potential clients or even future employers. The new BFM award will be given to the design that has the most potential to be commercially viable.
Said Jackie Bazeley, BFM md: “We wanted to add a new element to the well-established awards which recognises an important consideration of furniture production which is about having an eye for something which is commercially viable as well as being exciting and innovative.”
The winning designs will be on display on the Heico stand for the duration of the exhibition.
