Managing director of DUKES St James in London has revealed exclusively toBoutique Hotelierthat the brand hopes to announce plans for a new property by the end of the year.
Debrah Dhugga, MD of the five-star British boutique DUKES in Mayfair, spoke to Editor Zoe Monk and confirmed that the group is actively looking for a new site for its third property in the portfolio. Dhugga revealed that ideally it would be based in the regions and the group is also considering a number of operator-based options, as expansion is a key point on the agenda for DUKES.
Speaking to BH, Dhugga said: “We are looking for a new site, we want to get Dubai up and running and then we will be announcing a new hotel by the end of the year.
“I have a lot of experience in both the regions and London, so we are actually looking into opportunities for operating too. So if there are any independent hotels that are looking for someone to operate their hotels then that is something we are looking at. We’d love to have a DUKES in the country, that would really work.
“A lot of the hotels are all tied up but we’d love an owner to come and say, would you operate this? It would be fantastic to have a DUKES in the country in the UK.
