Flying Horse Coffee Launches In Shoreditch: A brand new all day brunch offering

March 2024, Flying Horse Coffee originally launched in 2018 in Mare Street Market with a Roastery and hatch window as a nod to The Flying Horse Inn, a staging post for weary travellers and their horses in the 16th century.

The second site came soon after, in the historic BBC Television Centre in White City and a third site followed on the corner of iconic Golborne and Portobello Road in 2022.

The new site in Shoreditch is their fourth and biggest project to date, opening this month, just in time for spring, bringing an updated contemporary take on a coffee shop as visualised by founder, Phillip Way.

This unique development in the heart of Shoreditch incorporates the over ground train line as part of the architecture of the site. If you like the sound of sipping your coffee in the morning sun, whilst watching skateboarders practise their moves and trains whizzing above your head, this place is for you.

60 seats inside and another 30 outside on the wrap-around terrace, with no bookings necessary, East London’s newest favourite all day brunch and coffee venue is sure to be a destination spot in no time.

The menu features a hearty Mexican Breakfast (already the best seller) and is an amalgamation of Phillips travels through Central America, consisting of scrambled eggs, refried beans, pico de gallo, in house queso fresco, guacamole and tortilla – served with a bottle of extra hot sauce!

There are classic dishes on the menu too including Mushrooms on Sourdough and a delicious 24hr home cured Wild Trout(no farmed, artificially dyed pink Salmon on this menu!) on Sourdough with smashed avo and poached eggs.

There are grown up nods to favourite British nostalgia breakfast dishes with Eggs & Soldiers and home made Baked Beans on Toast..

A Classic Fry Up and Veggie Fry Up also feature for those wanting to indulge with plenty of sides to add and a healthy Granola Bowl for a lighter option with yoghurt, peanut butter, granola, coconut, apple, blueberries and maple syrup, which ensures all tastes are catered for.

There are grab-and-go cheese toasties, bacon sarnies and the freshest homemade sausage rolls created by in-house chef, Agi, with vegan options as well, for those wanting to pop in and take away. Green and Orange juices are squeezed each day with the freshest ingredients, helping to soothe those heads and provide vital ingredients.

All of the coffee is roasted a stone’s throw away at the original Mare Street Market Roastery, you can’t get more locally roasted coffee than this!

There are four coffee blends used on site, all roasted to perfection and the team has spent six years blending their signature Espresso Blend, currently from Brazil, Peru & Guatemala. Chocolate bodied with apples and berries.

Founder, Phillip Way says, I’m really excited to be landing slap bang in the middle of Shoreditch where my east London life began in 2000 with the biggest and most exciting location so far! Older and wiser, I’m bringing brunch and coffee to the Shoreditch masses that used to rave in the warehouses that made way for the Shoreditch over ground line! It’s less late nights and more morning buzz that gets me going these days!

I’m very proud of what the team has achieved so far and can’t wait to share this incredible location with all of our customers new and old.
