Unique and immersive meetings and events space launches in Marylebone. The project marks the completion of the hotel’s multi-million-pound repositioning.
Located on iconic Chiltern Street in the heart of Marylebone Village, Holmes Hotel London has unveiled The Residence: a brand-new exclusive events venue within the award-winning hotel, completing its unrivalled meeting and events proposition.
The Residence has been launched alongside the hotel’s existing meeting and events facilities, creating a truly unique and brand new, self-contained event space which is designed around the ethos and etiquette of the historic townhouses above. Channelling the splendour and decadence of the neighbourhood’s famous fictional resident, its seriously stylish interior provides an immersive and inspiring environment suitable for any occasion – be that an away-day for a creative team, an inspiring training venue, a launch event or a business pitch.
Five unique and versatile rooms are available to choose from, namely The Pantry, The Billiard Room, The Laboratory, The Conservatory and The Cellar. These facilitate up to 130 guests when hired together for exclusive use, or up to 20 when booked on an individual basis.
Designed by Zopsigog, artfully positioned antiques, curiosities and artefacts feature throughout the venue, harmonising with its alluring colour palette and luxury furnishings that reflect the mystery of the central London enclave it calls home.
Slotted seamlessly into each space are all the essentials required for a successful meeting. Each room is equipped with full AV capabilities such as hidden interactive LCD screens, web cams, Wi-Fi and even floor to ceiling whiteboards ready to capture creative thoughts. Two additional spaces – The Library and the Telegraph Room – are shaped with charming details that create sought-after hideaways for private moments or discrete phone calls.
The Pantry sits at the heart of the venue offering delegates an array of energy-boosting snacks and refreshments throughout their event, with a premium wine fridge and both still and sparkling water on tap. Suitable for use as a reception room to greet guests or a breakout space, workshops including cookery lessons and cocktail masterclasses are also catered for.
A large skylight in The Conservatory allows natural daylight to flow in from above, helping boost delegates’ productivity. For down-time, head to The Billiards Room – setting the tone with eye-catching wallpaper that depicts extinct animals and a unique antique wooden table that can be transformed to play pool or snooker, this delightfully playful space comes with the obligatory brandy and whisky drinks cabinet, perfect for celebrations.
The hotel’s existing meeting and events facilities allow it to cater for multi-functional events, providing space for up to an additional 80 guests, with multiple entrances for added privacy and flexibility. For some fresh air, head to the hotel’s Secret Roof Terrace which boasts outdoor heaters and tables for receptions or intimate meals. It’s the perfect haven after a day of meetings. The hotel’s proximity to both Baker Street and Marylebone Stations and its 118 sophisticated rooms and suites that mirror the essence and appeal of The Residence, also make it the perfect choice for longer occasions. Its onsite restaurant, Kitchen at Holmes, also provides an exquisite dining experience that combines traditional and contemporary flavours.
Jennifer McCabe, General Manager of Holmes Hotel London, comments:
“We are delighted to reveal The Residence, a project some years in the making that has exceeded all expectations. It is an incredible extension to our existing meetings and events offer that truly speaks for itself – long gone are plain boardrooms and open halls; we have introduced a space like no other.
“Through clever and creative use of design, integrating essential business tools into the fabric of the space – such as the write-on walls in the Laboratory – we have created an engaging and inspiring space for everyone who visits, and can’t wait to work with clients to ensure their meeting or event is a success.”
In preparation for the resumption of meetings and events, the hotel has developed its ‘Reassuring Meetings & Events’ programme to ensure that delegates feel at ease in its safe, secure and flexible spaces.
