Safestay Sets Out 2020 Vision

Safestay, the owner and operator of contemporary hostels, sets out its vision for 2020, announcing continued expansion of the brand into leading European cities and key initiatives to drive further growth.

20 Hostels in 2020

With a current portfolio of 18 hostels in 15 cities across 11 European countries, and a further two sites under development, Safestay is set to operate 20 hostels and sell over a million bed nights by the end of 2020.

Safestay is synonymous with offering stylish, comfortable and affordable accommodation, as well as being notable for its statement buildings, stylish interiors and great city centre locations. Safestay’s mission is to provide a consistently high quality product and standard of service for a broad community of guests, while still preserving the individual ethos and character of its individual hostels and embracing their heritage and locale.

Safestay hostels are located in Athens, Barcelona (three hostels), Berlin, Bratislava, Brussels, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Lisbon, London (two hostels), Madrid, Pisa, Prague, Vienna, York and Warsaw. Further sites in Paris and Venice are under development.

The Safestay Rail Pass

This spring, Safestay launches the Safestay Rail Pass offering 7, 15 and 30 day Travel & Accommodation Passes to include Interrail travel on 33 European National railway companies and accommodation at any of the 18 Safestay hostels, plus any domestic rail travel not covered by the Interrail Pass. Prices start from €419 per person for the 7 day Travel & Accommodation Pass.

Aimed at backpackers and student travellers, The Safestay Rail Pass is an all-inclusive package including UK and European rail travel plus flexible and hassle free accommodation across the Safestay network, with additional benefits for Safestay members. With a social media and influencer campaign backing the promotion, Safestay has teamed up with You Tubers, Travel Beans, to also promote the environmental and practical benefits of train travel on their new Travel Series as they embark on the 30 day Safestay Rail Pass.

The CLC Vacation Club

Safestay has also teamed up with CLC Vacation Club, Europe’s largest private members club and operator of 32 resorts worldwide, and access to a further 4000 resorts in over 100 countries, to enable CLC members to use their points at any of Safestay’s 18 hostels across Europe.

This commercially compelling partnership will allow for the over 50,000 CLC Vacation Club members to be able to gift unused points to their children, or even grand-children and other younger family members, allowing them to stay at any Safestay hostel whilst they travel around the major cities of Europe. This could also be used for organising accommodation for larger groups of family or friends.

Larry Lipman, Chairman of Safestay:

“We are really focused on further enriching the travel experience for our Safestay guests – from continuing our expansion into Europe’s best cities such as Paris and Venice and completing the ‘journey circle’ with seamless rail travel options, to increasing the membership benefits for our most loyal guests and opening new markets with the CLC Vacation Club.”

Prices across all Safestay hostels start with an average rate of £20 / €20 per bed per night. Private rooms are available from £60 / €60 per room per night.
