A Cotswolds hotel has been named Best for Furry Friends in the prestigious Conde Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence 2020, during a glamorous ceremony in London last night (Monday, 4th November).
Tewkesbury Park, located in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, beat off competition from fellow finalists Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa and Rothay Manor Hotel & Fine Dining, to win the category, thanks to the venue’s inclusive approach to its canine guests.
The family-owned hotel, golf and health club is set amongst 164 acres of parkland on the site of the 1471 Battle of Tewkesbury, offering extensive on-site facilities including an 18-hole golf course, spa and leisure club, contemporary dining and luxury accommodation.
As well as dog-friendly rooms, with patio doors that lead straight onto grassy areas, and a team that believes dogs deserve holidays too, the hotel has a special Paws & Unwind offer designed to be the perfect canine retreat. Equipped with a welcome pack and suggested walks, a dog’s dinner (and a traditional afternoon tea for two), it’s the perfect break for pooches and their people.
Claire White, Director at Tewkesbury Park, said: “We are thrilled to have been named Best for Furry Friends at the Conde Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence. While we’re committed to providing the very best service and hospitality for our human guests, we realise that for many people, the best breaks involve their canine companions too.
We believe they should be catered for just as carefully as their owners to make the experience a special one for all involved. To be recognised in such prestigious awards, alongside some of the highest-class competition is a wonderful achievement for us and we’re delighted.”
The Johansens Awards are created to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across their recommended properties, while the world-renowned Awards for Excellence are a trusted mark of quality recognised by consumers and travel professionals alike.
