Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) is pleased to announce that The Gainsborough Bath Spa, one of Britain’s most iconic properties owned by YTL Hotels, has joined its exclusive collection of luxury boutique hotels.
The hotel, formerly part of Leading Hotels of the World, was selected by SLH for its combination of exceptional service, outstanding spa facilities and all-encompassing guest experience. Through this strategic partnership, the property will have access to SLH’s global reservation platform as well as the brand’s sales, marketing and distribution services.
Set in the heart of Bath, a World Heritage Site, The Gainsborough Bath Spa is the only hotel in Britain to have access to natural thermal waters from the springs below. Three of the hotel’s Spa Suites are equipped with alcove roll-top bathtubs offering guests exclusive in-bathroom access to the city’s thermal waters via a third tap.
The property’s Spa Village Bath includes a ‘Bath Circuit’ and an Aroma Bar where guests can blend their own oils. Quirky little touches can be found throughout the spa from a stone lion’s head that releases ice pellets through its mouth (for rubbing on the body) to a Georgian-style hot chocolate fountain laced with chilli, cardamom and cinnamon.
The Gainsborough restaurant is headed by Chef Dan Moon who is a huge supporter of local farmers and produce, and sources his ingredients making the most of the South West’s verdant pastures. Many of Dan’s dishes feature micro-cresses, blossoms and flowers.
