This April, the annual Marylebone Food Festival returns to London and, at five-star Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill, epicureans can experience a unique, one-night-only culinary masterclass with Head Chef Gianluca Augello. On 29th April, the hotel’s recently renovated The Library offers a grandiose setting for a dinner masterclass like no other. Hotel Chef Gianluca Augello will reveal culinary secrets from the hotel’s restaurant, The Montagu Kitchen, with some of their iconic dishes including Quail Wellington, a take on Winston Churchill’s favourite dish, traditionally made using beef; and Globe Artichoke. For those seeking an unforgettable gastronomic experience, the Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill awaits.
Starting the weekend right, the fun Friday evening masterclass will commence at 6:30pm with a welcome glass of Champagne and an amuse bouche to tempt the palate for the evening ahead. The Montagu Kitchen’s Head Chef Gianluca Augello will begin with an informal warm welcome talk where he will share some of the stories and inspirations for the restaurant’s dishes that celebrate modern British cuisine. Guests will enjoy succulent Quail Wellington and Globe Artichoke followed by a Q&A, accompanied by canapés and bubbles.
The setting for the evening provides the perfect backdrop for celebrating the best of British gastronomy as The Library has been designed to honour Sir Winston Churchill’s love of travel and adventure. Guests can admire the striking decor with Churchill memorabilia, along with the historic literature lining the walls and photographs from Sir Winston’s personal photograph albums – The Broadwater Collection – which showcase Churchill enjoying his leisure time, whether playing polo, boarding a cruise with his wife Clementine, or donning a captain’s hat for a day as a yachtsman. The Library is usually available for private events only, so this is a fantastic and unique opportunity to explore this enchanting room and its fascinating memorabilia.
The exclusive event is part of the 2022 Marylebone Food Festival which takes place from 26th April to 1st May 2022. The event boasts a magnificent line-up of in-restaurant events and festival menus celebrating Marylebone’s lively and eclectic dining and drinking scene. A launch dinner for the week of foodie events will also take place, headed up by restaurant critic and writer Jay Rayner, where all proceeds will be donated to the charity partner, The Food Chain, who deliver meals and groceries, offer cookery and nutrition classes and communal eating opportunities to people living with HIV in London and their dependants.
