To mark National Hospitality Day, The Lowry Hotel will be giving away complimentary cream teas to raise money for charity
As part of its 20th anniversary activities, the iconic Lowry Hotel is celebrating National Hospitality Day by giving away cream teas in exchange for donations, with all money raised being donated to four industry charities.
The Lowry Hotel will position a cream tea stand on the piazza between the hotel and Trinity Bridge beside the Irwell from 14:00 – 17:00 on Saturday 18 September.
Famed for their decedent afternoon tea, The Lowry Hotel’s limited-edition cream tea is the full works and consists of freshly homemade scones from the award-winning River Restaurant, with strawberry jam and clotted cream.
Those purchasing a limited-edition cream tea box will be asked to donate a minimum of £5 with all proceeds going towards supporting; The Drinks Trust, Hospitality Action, Springboard and Licensed Trade Charity.
The Lowry Hotel is encouraging locals, city retail workers and anyone passing by in the city to take 10 minutes to reflect on the past 18 months and enjoy a cream tea sitting on the banks of The River Irwell or takeaway to enjoy at home.
Adrian Ellis, General Manager at The Lowry Hotel said: “The hospitality industry has been one of the hardest hit industries by the pandemic.
“From what was a decimated industry at the start of 2021, bars, hotels, pubs and restaurants have demonstrated huge resilience and we must unanimously celebrate the return to normal.
“At The Lowry Hotel we want to show our support by raising funds to support four of the industry’s leading charities which despite the pandemic, continued to offer support and advice to those who needed it most.”
