Luxury Hospitality Veteran to Lead AAA Five Diamond Mountain Resort
The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe is pleased to announce the appointment of Maxence Bonnamain as hotel manager. Mr. Bonnamain joins the luxury mountain resort with more than two decades of hospitality management experience from all over the world, spanning from food and beverage to operations.
“I’m thrilled to continue my career at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe and look forward to familiarizing myself with the stunning landscape and unique activities and offerings of the surrounding area,” said Bonnamain, new hotel manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe. “I’m honored to begin this new chapter at such an esteemed resort and look forward to offering my international hospitality experience to lead the hotel in drawing back business and leisure visitors to the property as people begin planning travel once more.”
Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, Mr. Bonnamain served as general manager for the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort in Mexico where he achieved highest General Manager Leadership Index (Team Member Satisfaction) the past six years and led the team in reaching number one in 2019 for room cleanliness. Mr. Bonnamain has been instrumental in elevating luxury service throughout Los Cabos, implementing the Forbes Travel Guide program at the property, achieving the Hospitality Award of Excellence for overall service in 2019, moving his restaurants’ TripAdvisor rank from 100 to one and two from 2016-2017, and launching the first Hilton Grand Vacation timeshare in Mexico. Mr. Bonnamain successfully led his property through Hurricane Odile and the challenging recovery that followed, including a full resort renovation.
Prior to his time at Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort, Mr. Bonnamain was interim cluster general manager of Hilton Panama and Waldorf Astoria Panama. He has also held roles in food and beverage, where he progressed from banquet manager, then food and beverage director to director of operations with Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts in Puerto Rico.
Mr. Bonnamain holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel administration from Institut Superieur de Gestion, Belgium and earned a Certificate in Hotel Real Estate Investments & Asset Management from Cornell University. Born in France, Bonnamain spent his childhood in Africa due to his father’s diplomatic service and was introduced to the culinary world by his restaurateur mother. His love for travel, food and different cultures led him to become trilingual in English French and Spanish, and to pursue a career in hospitality.
