Celebrating the reopening of arts, design and theatre post lockdown and the return of hospitality to London
Today, the first international outpost from the coveted NoMad Hotel brand – NoMad London – opens, taking residence in the Grade II-listed building famously known as The Bow Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station.
To celebrate the launch of the hotel, the reopening of the arts and design industry and the revival of Covent Garden post lockdown, NoMad London is partnering with London Design Biennale – a renowned global gathering of the world’s most ambitious designers, curators and institutes – to offer a special stay and visit package in June. Celebrated designers such as Ini Archibong and Nisha Mathew Ghosh will curate the pavilions for Africa and India under the artistic direction of Es Devlin, creating a unique opportunity for British visitors to view the work of international designers in situ.
Covent Garden embodies historic London and encapsulates all that London has to offer in arts, culture and dining – it’s the perfect cultural weekend for visiting Brits to immerse themselves in an artistic voyage.
The “NoMad & London Design Biennale” package will offer:
- A one-night stay in a beautifully designed room by Roman and Williams (many boasting views across to the Royal Opera House opposite)
- A complimentary breakfast in the privacy of one’s room or in The Library – a decadent but cosy space which feels decidedly British
- Two welcome cocktails in the NoMad Bar, a light-filled atrium, or Side Hustle, NoMad’s take on the classic British pub, such as ‘En Maison’ or ‘Nod To Nothing’
- 2pm Late check out to truly enjoy the staycation lie in…
- 2x complimentary tickets to the London Design Biennale in neighbouring Somerset House open 1 – 27 June
- See here to book. 1 night plus experiences, £395 based on a classic room for 2 people during mid-week
For those looking for more cultural hits, other neighbourhood offerings this summer include: exploring the National Gallery, London Transport Museum and the arts and crafts-filled Jubilee Market, absorbing Covent Garden’s rich heritage as a former flower market; shopping at British fashion icons and Neal’s Yard delicatessens, and exploring the nearby theatre district on NoMad’s doorstep.
The new hotel and its dining offerings come at a perfect time for the capital in line with travel industry announcements leaning towards a summer of staycations once again. According to a recent survey by YouGov, 44% of Brits say they are considering a leisure trip domestically in the next 12 months and only 33% plan to venture abroad. 77% would opt-in for a short city break to combine relaxation with sightseeing.
The hotel will be announcing more partnerships this summer across its various pillars – food and beverage, art and wellness. The famed Ricari Studios – a cult LA lymphatic drainage and body sculpting treatments for the stars – takes residency at NoMad London in June. More details to come.
