OTO Development Opens Hyatt Place National Harbor

First Hyatt hotel in Prince George’s County, MD, across the river from Alexandria.

OTO Development, part of The Johnson Group, is pleased to announce the opening of its newest hotel, Hyatt Place National Harbor.  Located within the 350-acre shopping, dining and entertainment destination of National Harbor, Maryland, this 7-story, 156 room all-suite hotel has picturesque views of a lively waterfront, on-site dining, fitness center and 1,900 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.

The onsite restaurant, Bar Harbor, offers a casual dining experience featuring artisan pizzas and exceptional tacos paired with local microbrews.  With spectacular views of the Potomac River, the spacious outdoor patios and indoor dining seating will follow social distancing guidelines for a safe, comfortable experience.

The hotel’s general manager, Ted Fleurimond says, “I am delighted to welcome guests to stay at Hyatt Place and enjoy a meal with us at Bar Harbor.  The hotel team is outstanding and has worked so hard to prepare every detail for opening day.”

Architectural details like a cozy outdoor dining area with firepits and a spacious patio overlooking the Potomac, for example, encourage visitors to enjoy the vibrant street scene along Waterfront Street while offering stunning views from the spacious outdoor patio area facing the river.  The building’s contemporary façade complements surrounding downtown structures, both commercial and residential, to enhance the character of the National Harbor community.

Contributors to the project include Turner Construction of New York, general contractor; and //3877 of Washington, D.C., architect and interior designer.  Notably, the entire on-site construction leadership team from Turner and OTO consisted of five talented women:  Therese Swanson, senior project manager, Chelsea Macco, project engineer, and Deirdre O’Hara, assistant engineer, from Turner, along with OTO Development’s Reagan Moseley, development manager, and Kelli Parks, development associate. The Hyatt Place National Harbor is on track to achieve LEED certification.

“National Harbor is a special place.  Our new Hyatt Place will allow guests to enjoy the best of the many amenities of this vibrant community,” says Corry Oakes, CEO of OTO Development.  “The hotel is truly spectacular and the team is poised to offer genuine hospitality and memorable experiences.”

Hyatt Place National Harbor and Bar Harbor are located at 123 Waterfront Street.  To learn more and/or make a hotel reservation, please call (301) 686-1120 or visit HyattPlaceNationalHarbor.com.  For information on dining at our new restaurant, please visit BarHarborNationalHarbor.com
