The Luxury Resort offers exclusive privacy with one of the lowest density of villas in the Maldives and the Indian Ocean.
Feel the “Natural Freedom” again with spacious facilities, close proximity to nature and safety for all guests.
Located on the Raa Atoll in the Northern Maldives archipelago, Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa is delighted
to announce its planned reopening on 1 st of August 2020. A proud member of the Leading Hotels of the
World, the five-star Deluxe all-inclusive resort has undertaken several new measures to ensure this
spacious, paradisal island is safe for families and couples alike to return to and experience the luxury of
travel again.A core philosophy since opening in August 2019, “Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa, after only 1 year of
operations, became one of the top 10 Resort in the Maldives thanks to guests’ positive feedbacks that
enhanced the resort reputation” – declared Aldo Scarapicchia, Partner & Chief Operating Officer of
Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa. The resort effortlessly offers guests space, comfort and privacy, while
emulating both the freedom and elegance of the natural surroundings. Emerald Maldives is set on 20-
hectares of serene private island land, enveloped by 100 hectares of coral reef in walking distance of the
1.7 km unspoiled beach and close to the house Manta Rays point. The endless azure blue sea, golden sand
and green outdoor space ensures guests will truly feel like they’re on their own paradise island.
“We have measured the densities of construction in our island, resulting one of the three lowest
percentages in all of the Maldives. This make us confident to offer our guests wide spaces, privacy and
tranquillity to enjoy a perfect vacation” – declared Aldo Scarapicchia. Boasting 120 villas, of which 60 on
the Beach and 60 Overwater, each villa offers a private outdoor deck with direct access to the Indian
Ocean, a lounge area and private pools. Guests can choose to retreat in the seclusion of their spacious
villa or head to one of the many public areas without concerns, as social distancing will come naturally on
the sparse island.
Following both the health and hygiene standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the
Maldivian Government, all guests will have their temperature checked on arrival and departure, luggage
surfaces will be disinfected, and staff of Emerald Maldives will be serologically tested for Covid-19 every
10 days as well as wear face masks at all times. Guests will be provided with a Hygiene Kit in every villa
including their own face masks, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and disposable gloves – these will also
be readily available in public areas. There will be a mobile sterilization UV light disinfectant and
electrostatic sprayer with grade disinfectants used to clean villas between check-ins as well as all public
areas and supplies. A medical doctor and new dedicated Hygiene Manager will be on property and on hand
to ensure the new procedures are monitored on a daily basis and that guests and staff are safe and
comfortable.
Operating on a Deluxe all-inclusive basis, Emerald Maldives is home to four atmospheric concept
restaurants covering international cuisine from every continent, from the ‘Amazònico’ to the ‘Asiatique’,
the ‘Beach Grill Restaurant’ and the main ‘Aqua’ Restaurant of 3000sqm, all carefully curated by Executive
Chef – Aldo Cadau. Each restaurant is open-air and seating has been rearranged to ensure social distancing
is effortless, whilst maintaining intimacy for groups of guests. For those that would rather relax in the
privacy of their villa, in-room dining is available from resort butlers who will ensure guests are receiving
the highest quality and safety service.
Other resort highlights include the Emerald SPA – a haven of tranquillity set over 5000sqm with 10
independent private couple villas for Balinese and Thai style treatments as well as a relaxation area – and
there are two large tennis courts, two paddle courts, an air-conditioned Gym & Sports Centre and a
dedicated Dolphin Kids Club with the largest outdoor area available in the Maldives, where young travellers
