On the heels of a recent major fitness center renovation, which included the installation of a 40-foot-wide climbing wall, and announcing Justin Simpson as the new General Manager, Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel is making major updates to the hotel and restaurant.
This week, the Shorebreak kicked off a refresh of the 157-guestroom hotel, updating guestrooms and public areas with new furniture, flooring and new decor. Drawing inspiration from the hotel’s coastal location, active local community and vibrant outdoor lifestyle, the rooms will feature sleek and modern art and graphics, moody ocean shades, windswept ripples and retro inspired prints and furnishings. The upscale SoCal vibe will continue externally, as the hotel kicks off repainting the entire exterior with marine colors, including shades of blue. Public spaces and the lobby will also be updated with new flooring, furniture and SoCal décor.
In addition, the hotel will close Zimzala Restaurant and Bar to make room for Pacific Hideaway—a modern American restaurant with Asian roots, that features design and flavor inspiration from Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Japanese surf culture. Designed as a casual, yet polished and global restaurant, Pacific Hideaway’s signature statement pieces will include roll-up garage doors, a large hand-carved bar depicting ocean waves, an expansive patio and lounge and incredible views of Huntington Beach Pier and the Pacific Ocean.
With the restaurant design change, the Shorebreak will also gain an additional 1,800 square feet of meeting and event space, which can be used for small to mid-sized corporate groups, social events and private dining. The catering menu will also feature Pacific Hideaway’s new cuisine.
The hotel refresh will be completed in early March and Pacific Hideaway will open in early April 2017.
