SHAUN CLARKSON LAUNCHES THE HOUSE IN HASTINGS

Interior designer, Shaun Clarkson will be adding a new property to his collection of ‘home-tels’ with the opening of The House in Hastings this August. Located on Croft Road, the house is within reach of various attractions and is a five-minute walk from Hastings Beach.

With a square footage of 4500, sleeping up to 10 guests, the grade II listed Regency property has undergone an extensive refurbishment. Shaun’s recognisable style is evident with a selection of green and blue shades from Myland’s Colours of London range and an eclectic mix of commissioned furniture, hand picked fixtures, furnishings, modern artwork and vintage pieces.

The House in Hastings has five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The large master suite takes up the entire second floor, complete with en-suite bathroom featuring a roll top bath, chaise longue and walk-in shower. The 453 square foot suite features a handmade super king size, deep buttoned sleigh bed with a premium Savoir mattress, French 1940’s chandeliers, bespoke rugs and a feature fireplace.

The third floor is home to a west facing ensuite twin or double room and an east hill facing room with adjacent bathroom featuring Mosacio+ gold mirrored tiles. The Ship Suite comprises two rooms with a nautical theme on the top floor and features reclaimed brass ship lights, a vintage telescope, built-in ship bunks in one room and salvaged ship fittings in the adjacent bathroom.

The ground floor is made up of a kitchen, scullery and a dining room seating 12 with an additional outdoor dining space for a further 12 people. Designed with Carrara marble units inset with vintage oversized butler sinks, the kitchen is home to a walk-in larder and is fully equipped with a six-burner Rangemaster cooker, washing machine and tumble dryer. The raised living room on the first floor comprises of two interconnecting rooms each with working fireplaces and a large HD TV projector, drop down screen and surround sound wired up to Sky and Apple TV. Integrated speakers and a Sonos sound system provide music between the kitchen.

Add to this a new theatre, a host of bars and restaurants and historical venues and you have a fantastic holiday destination”.  

The management team can assist guests with booking a number of activities for a bespoke experience including walking routes, sports, beauty treatments, car hire, private chef hire etc. Full catering can also be provided on request.

The House in Hastings is located 1.2 miles from the Hastings Train Station and a five-minute walk from the beach.

Prices start at £2,250 for a three night’s weekend stay and £2,650 for a full week and bookings are now being taken for August onwards.
