Independent breweries, interior designers, spicy snacks and future trends: PUB16 promises to inspire even the most forward-thinking publicans

From ready-to-drink cocktail jars to charcuterie snacks, the UK’s leading pub suppliers will be showcasing their latest innovations at PUB16, the dedicated show for the pub sector.

Some of the biggest names in the business including Kraft-Heinz, Bidvest Food Service and Gruppo Campari will be joined by a new wave of British greats including Fever-Tree, BrewDog, Sipsmith, Old Mout Cider and Frobishers Juices.

Taking place on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th of February at the Olympia in London, with more than 160 exhibitors confirmed, PUB16’s line-up presents attendees with a thought-provoking range of products and services from all corners of the pub sector, from beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks to technology, design and finance.

Many of the brands exhibiting will be using the show to introduce their latest innovations. Frobishers Juices will be offering samples of the latest addition to their Classics range of juice drinks, Sparkling Ginger, while new premium pub snack brand Cleaver & Keg will be launching a range of four new products; Chorizo Slices, Salami Slices, Strips O’Beef and Hot Strips O’Beef.

Dan Searle, founder of Cleaver & Keg, beer drinker and meat lover, says: “We see PUB16 as the perfect platform to launch our range and begin our mission to change pub snacking for the better. We thought it was a crying shame that the default bar snack was a packet of crisps or peanuts. We didn’t think that that was good enough for people who really care about their pint – us included and wanted to give the pub goers of Great Britain the snack they deserve.”

Pubs are increasingly opting for bar snacks that offer a little more variety than a packet of salt and vinegar or cheese and onion, which snack suppliers like Pipers Crisps, Propercorn, HKScan Flodins, Metcalfe’s Skinny Ltd, The Snaffling Pig Co and Salty Dog are also all catering to with their popcorn, nuts, meat snacks, biscuits and pork crackling.

The drinks sector will be well represented with leading wholesalers, premium products and boutique brands all attending. Key trends in the sector to look out for include the unstoppable rise of cocktails, with Cellar Trends Ltd showcasing their Finest Call cocktail mixers and Poison Cocktails’ pre-mixed ready-to-serve cocktail jars, as well as an increased appetite for non-alcoholic drinks, such as Fever Tree, Luscombe Drinks and Fentiman’s.

With an increasing need to develop new revenue streams through the daytime customer, breakfast and brunch is another emerging trend which exhibitors Lincoln & York, Coffee Solutions, CakeSmiths and Birchall Tea are helping to meet. Visitors will also be able to find out more on this topic at the ‘From AM to PM – winning the daytime customer’ seminar on Tuesday morning.

Owners and operators looking to increase efficiency through technology will be able to see the latest developments from mobile apps: PopIn, Orderella and Crowdit and EPOS management technology providers Tevalis Ltd and cloud-based Lightspeed POS.

Visitors feeling inspired by the ‘Renovation Game’ design seminar will be able to get plans in action by exploring products on offer from some of the exhibitors including the Catering Design Group, Concorde BGW, Oak & Ford’s branded joinery products, garden furniture makers Rondeau Leisure and digital signage providers Digital Pub Info Ltd.
