The owner of Cranleigh Boutique in the Lake District has revealed exclusively to Boutique Hotelier his plans to roll out the brand across the Lakes within the next five years.
Stephen Hargreaves, owner and CEO, has already acquired two new properties to join his portfolio and plans to completely renovate them before officially launching them as part of the Cranleigh brand by 2020. The Cranleigh name has already secured an impressive reputation in the Lakes since the first hotel opened in Lake Windermere nine years ago. It is now made up of The Cranleigh Boutique, The Boutique Church Suites and the Hideout Boutique House.
Hargreaves newest venture, The Church Suites, only opened four months ago but is already running at around 80% occupancy. Now he hopes to recreate this success with two new properties and a new bar and restaurant, which is due to open next year. Each new venture will bring something completely different to the hospitality market in the Lake District.
Speaking to BH, owner Stephen Hargreaves said: “Next year here we continue to build The Cranleigh Boutique brand in the Lakes. I think we are one of the most well-known brands in the Lakes now and most people know the Cranleigh and we’ve managed to achieve that in a very small amount of time, so I think it would be silly for me to not continue with that brand.
“I two other properties I own, I have permission to do, it’s a case of when I get the time to do them because I have so much on!”
“After I’ve done those two hotels, then I’ll probably create another three or four boutique houses up here and then depending on how the new business goes, it’ll be whatever I come up with next. Bars, I’ll have two of those in the village in the next five years as well.”
