Alex Polizzi and Mitre Linen makeover a 13th Century Inn

One of the country’s oldest inns will get a visit from The Hotel Inspector tomorrow (Channel 5, May 21st 9pm). The traditional 13th Century Little Thatch Inn in Quedgeley, Gloucester has been owned by Jackie McDougall’s family for more than 40 years.

But according to Channel 5: “Business is slack with a guest list now confined to contractors and budget travellers and Jackie rejects her daughter’s plans to modernise.” Award winning hotelier Alex Polizzi is on a quest to refresh some of Britain’s hotels and bed and breakfast establishments.

As the grand-daughter of Lord Forte and the niece of Sir Rocco Forte, Alex has all the industry experience and authority needed to turn hotels into profitable ventures. In tomorrow night’s episode, she calls on Merthyr Tydfil’s Mitre Linen to help her transform the 23 room inn.

The company provided Percale bed linen, Simply Soft duvets, Palace pillows, Nova towels and Quiltop mattress protectors from its Comfort and Essentials ranges.

Lyndsey John, Marketing Manager for Mitre Linen says: “We were delighted to team up with The Hotel Inspector to help them transform Little Thatch Inn. We love helping hoteliers in their refurbishment and can help breathe new life into their establishments.”
