INNOVATIVE designer and manufacturer of inflatable buildings, Tectoniks, has entered the event rental market to make its unique structures available to the wider hospitality and exhibition industry.
The expansion of its services follows Tectoniks’ acquisition by cold and humidity-controlled storage provider and rental specialists Dawsongroup Temperature Control Solutions (DGTCS) in late 2018.
Tectoniks recently completed its first rental agreement, creating a bespoke pavilion for 3D printing specialists and Hewlett Packard representatives 3Dees in the Czech Republic. The brief was an eye-catching outdoor structure that would reflect 3Dees’ creative and cutting-edge technology at the MSV International Engineering Fair; the most important engineering and electrical industrial fair in Central Europe.
The result was a bespoke ‘D’ shaped unit which not only incorporates the brand logo but provides flexible access and the efficient use of space as well as lighting. Hexagonal cladding was added to create an additional 3D effect and to reflect one of 3Dees’ own pattern concepts.
Rod Benham, managing director of DGTCS, said: “Tectoniks has long been an innovative name in the inflatable buildings world; mainly creating large bespoke structures for international brands and organisations for uses ranging from missile storage to theatre performances. When DGTCS acquired Tectoniks in 2019, we knew that our experience building client relationships, which is so central to success in the rental market, would work perfectly alongside their ability to create innovative inflatable structures that make exhibitors stand out from the crowd.
“By hiring a unique structure from Tectoniks, exhibitors can be instantly recognised and easily located, even in a busy conference space. This is a simple way to stand-out against standard marquees and gain maximum return from attending an exhibition or holding an event. These buildings also provide superior performance in respect to sound, the quality of the internal environment created, and the speed at which it can be deployed or removed.
“It was fantastic to secure the first rental agreement, which was for a minimum of three hires over 12 months, with a company as exciting and technologically ground-breaking as 3Dees. They benefitted from an affordable and yet bespoke structure which guests flocked to at the most significant event in the engineering industry calendar, whilst our team demonstrated it has the technical, creative, and logistical expertise to make rental simple.”
As well as designing and creating eye-catching inflatable structures, rental agreements with Tectoniks can also include operatives to oversee installations and take downs, interiors, shipping, electrical supply and anchoring systems.
