The UK’s Association of Serviced Apartment Providers (ASAP) has announced that it set set to roll out the ‘first ever’ global accreditation programme.
In a collaboration with US-based Corporate Housing Providers Association (CHPA), the programme will be named the International Serviced Apartment Accreditation Programme (ISAAP). The programme, which is expected to be launched in the summer of 2015, will embrace guest opinion, internet review systems and physical inspection of properties as part of its assessment process.
The initiative will make its debut in North America, with New York, San Francisco and Dallas in the US, and Toronto and Calgary in Canada being selected as primary locations for pilot assessments. ASAP said the programme has received “significant” support and interest from around the world and North America will be just the beginning, with more European organisations set to follow.
James Foice, ASAP & ISAAP’s managing director, said: “[The programme] launches at a time when the serviced apartment industry is growing at 14% in the past year alone, with 750,000 apartments worldwide. North America is a major driver for innovation in our industry, so we are excited to roll out the programme there.”
