Cocktail Club Chic x Matthew Williamson

Cocktail Club Chic x Matthew Williamson

Award winning Interior designer Matthew Williamson, celebrated for his eclecticism and use of intricate pattern, vivid colour, rustic decadence, and playful frivolity has designed the recently opened Cocktail Club in Birmingham.

“I’ve loved every minute of working on this project. From a raw shell of a space to the glamourous finished interior, it’s been hard work but a great creative process. Working with The Cocktail Club has been a pleasure and I’m really proud of the results. My brief was to respect their well-known brand identity and philosophy whilst injecting some of my own personal interior design style”– Matthew Williamson

Williamson divided the space into three unique bars. The entrance features Art Deco-style wallpaper from London design house Divine Savages, an amber Murano chandelier from lighting specialist Renaissance London and a mirror sourced by design studio Retrouvius.

Inside the Temple bar, the first of the three connecting bars the mood is relaxed and casual with stone floors, marble countertops and painted tequila green walls.  The space holds a wooden cabana and a painting by German illustrator Olaf Hajek. Velvet and jacquard upholstered banquet seating and stools add a touch of luxury, whilst a mural of black cranes provide a striking bar backdrop.

Through to the Eden Bar sits a seven metre long marble topped, front lit bar with an imposing illuminated papier mâché cheetah suspended above it.   The space features hanging gardens, deep green tones, and wallpaper from Divine Savages.

The mood here is darker still with black marble tables by Andrew Martin and guilded mirrors and portable brass lamps from Matthew’s homeware product ranges.

Inside the intimate Star Bar, Matthew used his own star-studded Celestia wallpaper featuring midnight blue velvet tones and touches of antique mirror and golden brass. The inky blue walls and ceiling create an intimate space for VIP’s and special events. Deep blue velvets, brass fixtures and a foxed mirror add to the decadence.
