Coworth Park’s Festive Afternoon Tea 

Dorchester Collection’s luxury country house hotel, Coworth Park, offers a magical sanctuary for the festive season, just moments from London but surrounded by picturesque Berkshire countryside. The winter chill makes for a perfect excuse to cosy up next to a roaring fire and enjoy the hotel’s festive afternoon tea. Seasonal sandwiches of Roast turkey, sage and apple compote; Poached and smoked salmon with horseradish crème fraiche and English brie and cranberry, are followed by Warm scones with honey and fig compote, raspberry jam and clotted cream. To finish, festive pastries include Chocolate yule log; Stem ginger cake with lemon and cardamon cream; and Black cherry, vanilla and kirsch. For an extra delight, at weekends the festive afternoon tea is accompanied by a local choir singing carols.

Christmas Afternoon Tea at Pennyhill Park, Berkshire 

Pennyhill Park is transformed into a festive wonderland at Christmas with crackling fires, dazzling entertainment and the smells of the season floating in the air. Pastry Chef Sarah Frankland has created a festive take on the traditional afternoon tea, which is served in The Hillfield Bar. The menu starts with savouries including Roast turkey, sage and onion stuffing on rye & caraway bread; Pork and apple sausage roll and apple puree; and Hot smoked Chalk stream trout, dill crème fraiche and pickled cucumber. These are followed by a Snowball cocktail paired with Advocaat parfait and lemonade granita and plain and spiced fruited scones with mulled wine conserve and Surrey Hills cream. Homemade mince pies with spiced almond sponge and brandy buttercream; Eggnog mousse, with spiced plum compote and spiced whole wheat biscuit; and Roulade with chocolate ganache, chestnut cream, chocolate genoise and candied chestnut form just some of the sweet treats on offer to conclude Pennyhill Park’s festive offering.
