Blueair urges hospitality venues and hotels to consider air purifiers now that restrictions have lifted

Despite restrictions lifting on 19th July, many consumers and holiday makers will continue to be concerned about visiting public spaces and mixing with others. Getting customers through the door may be a challenge that many hospitality venues face due to increasing concerns around the spread of infection. With this in mind, air purification expert Blueair urges hotels to take the health and wellness of their guests into consideration.

Michael Westin, B2B sales manager for Blueair explains, “When you learn that indoor air can be up to five times’ more polluted than outdoor air, investing in air purifiers for hospitality venues becomes a very sensible and important investment for those preparing to re-open. Our compact, quiet, and stylish Blue Pure 411 air purifier can be found in every guest room in the central London boutique hotel, Page8, and their staff and clients have seen the benefits first-hand. Blueair’s range of air purifiers are not only one of the best on the market in terms of performance but the design has never been compromised, meaning they can fit seamlessly into any venue. The future of hospitality and hotel design surrounds the health and wellness of guests so when choosing an air purifier for your venue, it is important to look for the right credentials as well as its performance.”

The newly launched HealthProtect™ is Blueair’s most advanced air purifier to date and is the perfect solution for those worrying about their health and wellness. Combining three new revolutionary technologies, the HealthProtect™ air purifier provides protection against viruses and bacteria, even when it is on standby. HealthProtect™ 7400-series air purifiers HealthProtect™ uses HEPASilent Ultra™, Blueair’s most advanced filtration technology to date. This technology combines electrostatic and mechanical filtration to remove up to 99.97% of airborne pollutants such as dust, pollen, dander and mould. The technology removes VOCs (including formaldehyde), odours and nanoparticles down to 0.03 micron and removes up to 99.99% of viruses and bacteria. HealthProtect™ 7400-series air purifiers remove 99.99% [1] of live airborne SARS- CoV-2 virus in controlled biosafety level 3 lab testing.

A YouGov survey commissioned by Blueair found that there is consumer demand for clean air hotels, with 54% of Brits considering air quality to be important when choosing a hotel. [2] One hotel that is going above and beyond for its guests is London-based hotel Page8 which opened its doors last year and opted to place an air purifier in every room of its hotel.

Page8 Hotel has installed air purifiers in every room to benefit their guests and staff’s wellbeing

Philip Chan, Project Development Manager of Butterfly Hospitality Group explains why Page8 has opted for air purifiers and the importance of clean air for both guests and hoteliers alike: “Every little thing we do is to improve the experience of our guests – even if this is invisible. Air quality is directly related to the quality of our health and environment. After a long day of activities, Page8 which is located in the heart of London, welcomes urban explorers back to the hotel with the purest air, detoxing them from the pollution of the city and providing a hygienic, clean environment for a quality night’s sleep. All 138 rooms, from single to family rooms, are equipped with a Blueair air purifier to ensure our guests are breathing the purest air throughout their stay. Using a Blueair air purifier that removes airborne pollutants will go a long way towards helping our guests stay healthy by breathing cleaner air.”

Experts from the Swedish brand Blueair tested the difference in air quality before and after using an air purifier in the rooms of Page8 Hotel. Thanks to the efficiency of Blueair’s unique HEPASilent™ filtration, the particles were reduced by 96% after using an air purifier for only one hour, making the air in the hotel rooms as pure as the Swedish Archipelago.

Indoor air can be up to five times more polluted than outside and it is made up of a concoction of particles including dust, mould, smoke, bacteria, viruses and pet dander. Breathing in this fine dust or PM2.5 (also known as fine particulate matter) can penetrate deep into the lungs and cause respiratory difficulties, heart and lung problems and a host of other diseases. Even if you have no other underlying health issues, studies show that clean air can benefit your skin [3] , increase productivity [4] and even improve your sleep. [5]
