Champneys applies the MYDIS touch to resort for Soccer Aid for UNICEF

MYDIS, the sanitation and disinfection experts, is working with Champneys to ensure its luxury hotel resort in Cheshire is ‘COVID-safe’ before hosting the celebrity squad taking part yesterday’s Soccer Aid for Unicef.

Soccer Aid for Unicef took place this Sunday, 6th September, at Old Trafford stadium. The charity football match saw celebrities and former footballers take to the pitch in an 11-a-side game between England and the Soccer Aid World XI FC.

The coronavirus pandemic posed a threat to the annual charity match, but with the help of MYDIS, Champneys can host the celebrities and football legends at Mottram Hall, its luxury hotel in Cheshire, before they bring their A-game on the pitch.

MYDIS’ SE20 fogging disinfection units have been used in all Champneys sites across the UK, which provides total surface sanitisation in difficult-to-reach places. This technology allows for the disinfection of rooms and does not require any PPE or a wait period before re-entry into the room, ensuring disruption is minimised.

The specialist has also integrated no-touch sanitation stations and the MYDIS Portal, a walk-through disinfection experience that is ideal for areas with a high footfall.

MYDIS’ contactless disinfectant hand dispensers have been stationed around the resort and the staff regularly disinfect the rooms with the fogging disinfection unit.

MYDIS’ specialist sanitation solutions ensure visitors to Champneys’ sites, including Mottram Hall, have peace of mind during their stay, restoring consumer confidence during a time of immense caution and uncertainty. These solutions also ensure Champneys can confidently host large numbers of people whilst adhering to the current government guidelines.

Al Sayed, director and founder of the MYDIS brand, says: “We have more than twenty years’ of experience in the disinfection industry, so we are putting our expertise to good use to ensure Champneys is ready to host some of the nation’s greatest talent, while adhering to government guidelines and sanitisation best practice during this difficult and challenging time.

“The leisure industry is one of the worst affected sectors of the pandemic, but the recent staycation boom is generating a cautious sense of optimism amongst businesses, and our range of disinfectants and sanitisers is allowing businesses in the sector to confidently reopen their doors to the public.”

Alan Whiteley, CEO of Champneys, says: “MYDIS has offered us an additional layer of protection for the Soccer Aid event – and for our spas and hotels nationwide. We are taking every precaution to ensure we are COVID-compliant, and our guests should feel reassured that their health and wellbeing is our first priority.

“With these measures, we are leading the way in the hospitality sector, demonstrating how Britain can begin to resume business activities and confidently return to the conference market with safety in mind.”
