Quayside Exchange — Sunderland

For something with a touch of elegance, explore the many party options offered by the Quayside Exchange in Sunderland. They cater to all kinds of events, including private parties and proms.

The Quayside Exchange is housed within a gorgeous Grade II listed building, with two room options to choose from. The Grand Room is their larger space, with huge Georgian windows offering amazing views of the River Wear. With two private bars in the suite, this one would be great for office parties or larger celebrations.

The second room is called The Vaulted Suite and gives a trio of alcoves and a private bar for a more intimate event. Plus, you can head out to the heated terrace for some peace and riverside views.

Then again, if you know you and your friends want to let your hair down, ask about The Tempest Bar. It was refurbished in 2017, so it has a fantastic, modern feel and so many contemporary features. From hog roasts to DJ hire, you’re sure to get your party off on the right foot here!

Must-try: Be sure to try out their food options. TripAdvisor is full of compliments for this venue’s food offerings, with the buffet of particular note.

Customer reviews: Customer testimonials outline some incredible days at the Quayside Exchange. Weddings, parties, and everything in between, customers have highlighted the professional standard of the stand and venue alike.

York’s Chocolate Story — York

Want your party to stand out from the crowd? For a quirky venue that still boasts quality service and fantastic party resources, take a look at York’s Chocolate Story. The three-story venue allows guests to hire out the Factory Zone, and this comes with a private drinks service as standard.

Explore the Chocolate Story with a private evening tour, as well as a number of other activities that can be tailored to suit your guests. This party can be educational too, as the tour lets guests dip into the history of York’s premium chocolatiers as well as picking up some techniques from the chocolatiers themselves.

For a truly special touch, your party even has the chance to design your own signature chocolate. Pick the filling, the colours, the design, and then…scoff the lot, of course!

Must-try: We’ve heard the chocolate is something of a specialty here.

Customer reviews: The venue is enjoying a 4.5/5 rating on TripAdvisor, with many people enjoying the chance to make their own chocolates as a truly unique experience.
