The St. Regis San Francisco, the city’s premier address for relaxed luxury and timeless elegance, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jacqueline “Jackie” Volkart to the position of general manager.  Ms. Volkart joins the hotel team with three decades of hospitality experience, having held management positions at luxury properties throughout the United States and Mexico, as well as overseeing the openings of numerous hotels across the globe.

Prior to joining The St. Regis San Francisco, Ms. Volkart served as general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she was recognized by Worldwide Branding for excellence in hotel management and earned the hotel a Green Hotel Award from the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.  The hotel was the first full-service facility to receive the accolade in the Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Program.  Ms. Volkart has also held hotel manager and general manager roles at The Ritz‐Carlton, Key Biscayne, The Ritz‐Carlton, Battery Park, and The Ritz‐Carlton, Coconut Grove.  At The Ritz‐Carlton, Key Biscayne, Ms. Volkart led the property in obtaining its first AAA Five Diamond Award.

Additionally, Ms. Volkart has served as director of catering and conference services for the opening of Marriott’s Casa Magna Resort, Cancun and was then selected to open The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun serving the same role as well as director of food and beverage.  She helped propel both restaurants to AAA Five Diamond Award status for the first time in history, making The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun the first Triple AAA resort in the world.  Over the course of her career Ms. Volkart facilitated the openings of nine Ritz‐Carlton properties around the globe.

Throughout her career, Ms. Volkart has acted as an industry advocate, serving as board member or chair of numerous advisory committees and Marriott Business Councils.  She is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and a Licensed Condominium Association Manager (CAM).  She was educated in Switzerland, earning a bachelor of science degree in international hospitality management at Ecole Hoteliėre de Lausanne and an MBA in international hospitality and service industries management at Glion Higher Institute of Education in Glion-sur-Montreux.

Ms. Volkart was raised in Oberstammheim, a small town in Switzerland’s Wine Country region.  She notes that she was introduced to the hospitality industry at an early age, assisting her veterinarian father, whose practice included pet boarding, by taking charge of the canine check-ins.

A true citizen of the world, Ms. Volkart is multi‐lingual, fluent in English, Swiss, German, French, Spanish and Italian.  She and her husband, Abraham Sedeno, enjoy discovering the neighborhoods of San Francisco on foot and are thrilled to call the city their new home.  Ms. Volkart’s hobbies and interests include culinary arts, tennis, skiing, and soccer.
