Brewdog plans ‘beer hotel’ with bedroom booze on draught

Craft brewer Brewdog is said to be planning to open a new ‘beer hotel’ concept in Scotland.

The plans will all depend on the outcome of a new crowdfunding project launched by the brewer, which is hoping to raise £25m from its international fanbase to fund the new hotel. The proposed Brewdog Hotel will be based near its brewery in Ellon Scotland, which it hopes will help turn the area into a real tourist hotspot and help boost the economy.

The hotel also aims to provide something different to the norm, with booze on tap in the guest rooms. Speaking to The Telegraph, co-founder Martin Dickie said: “We’re going to have draught Brewdog on tap in the bedrooms. We would love to have somewhere for people who visit us to stay, as we’re quite out of the way up here. “This is something we’ve been thinking about for a while,” he added.

With the money raised, the company also plans to build a 300-hectrolitre brewery next to its original site to help meet the growing global demand. A distillery will also be built, creating craft spirits. Also, around £7m will be spent on opening between 15 and 20 Brewdog bars through the UK, doubling the size of its current portfolio.
