£35m regeneration Liverpool plan to include new hotel

A plan to completely overhaul Liverpool’s Lime Street as part of a £35m regeneration project is set to include to a new hotel for the area.

Regeneration Liverpool, with developers Neptune, are proposing to create a new hotel, retail and student accommodation along one of Liverpool city centre’s major roads. Neptune, which has been working with Liverpool Council on the project, is currently applying for planning permission for the scheme that will give first-time visitors to the city a new perspective on arrival.

The new hotel will be located above retail units within the Lime Street block, which sees a pub at either end. Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Steve Parry, Neptune’s managing director, said: “The key driver of this is to tidy up Lime Street and have good quality occupants at the entrance of the city. We see doing this as part of our agreement with the city for the Knowledge Quarter. This is part of an overall masterplan for Lime Street and the Knowledge Quarter.
