Georgian House hotel invests in two new Harry Potter-themed bedrooms

The Georgian House hotel, which first launched its ‘Wizard Chambers in 2013’, has spent £35,000 on developing two brand new Harry Potter themed bedrooms to meet consumer demand.

The 60-bedroom hotel already has four Harry Potter themed rooms and has received interest on an international scale with weekend stays completely booked out three to four months in advance, inspiring owner Serena von der Heyde to expand its offering.

The hotel said that demand for the original chambers was so high that the money invested into their development was returned within just four months of opening.

Von der Heyde said: “The popularity of our Wizard Chambers has been incredible and we now have guests coming from all over the world to experience them. Following the launch of the first two bedrooms we have found that the revenue generated from each of the Wizard Chambers is almost three times more than that of one of our other boutique bedrooms.”

Von der Heyde added that since the launch of the Wizard Chambers, the hotel’s occupancy rate has risen to 91% and the average room rate has grown by 120%.

Reservations made for the Hogwarts-style chambers can be booked alongside a ‘Harry Potter package’, including a walking tour of central London landmarks from the films and a trip to the Warner Bros Studio.

If you love the world of sorcery then this is for you. London is the focal point for a phenomenon that is known around the world. Many scenes from the films were shot in central London, and of course it is literally the best place to get into Hogwarts, as the magical “entrance” platform 9 ¾ is in King’s Cross. As part of your spell binding visit to London, why not stay in our truly atmospheric chambers. There are some wonderful tours you can take to set the scene, and we love the “Muggle Walking Tour”. This tour is very popular amongst tourists and Londoners alike. You will be able to see the landmark sights used in the making of the film, and the entertaining guides will also be able to tell you so much more that you never knew about London. It has received rave reviews and been awarded Time Out London Critic Choice, and has also been given the Certificate of Excellence Award 2014 by Tripadvisor.
