Newhey Carpets, a leading British manufacturer and specialist designer of innovative, high performance and sustainable commercial carpets recently produced over 170 square metres of carpet from their Colortec+ Express service for Housing Units, Manchester’s biggest and best Furniture Store. The carpet was required as part of a major refurbishment for their fully licensed Wickentree Restaurant.
The creative process began with Newhey’s online design tool, this allowed the Display Team at Housing Units to choose from over 55 designs, re-colour accordingly selecting from Newhey’s spectrum of over 290 colours and view in a selection of room settings. The Display Manager, Julie Yarwood commented: “After a consultation with Newhey’s friendly and professional design team and with the help of their online tool, I was able to accomplish the precise look I was hoping for”.
Housing Units selection process was based around an opulent damask pattern using the colour scheme of gold and mulberry from their damask wallpaper samples. Being able to select patterns, re-colour and view in virtual room settings helped to make the initial design selection a quick and simple process.
Colortec+ Express can be supplied in a choice of three high quality product specifications, and for this project, due to the popularity of the restaurant, the heaviest weight was chosen to ensure outstanding quality and durability.
Manufactured using Newhey’s revolutionary 100% recycled secondary backing system, evobac, paired with their eco-friendly hot melt energy efficient coating system, creates an inseparable bond between the primary and secondary backing. Ultimately the finished carpet has at least three times the bonding strength of a conventional latex backed product. All these factors combined make Newhey’s Colortec+ product a sustainable and smart environmental choice.
This project took just four weeks to manufacturer and deliver from when the initial order was processed and complies with all relevant performance and fire code standards.
