Lighting design needed to revolve around the Virgin hotels brand which intermixes a passion for food and beverage, music and culture, fusing along with the local landscape and providing a vibrant and inclusive environment for travellers and locals alike.
Elektra have designed an inclusive and dynamic lighting scheme to which all guests can identify and feel comfortable. Within this overall theme, we are also creating a series of individual spaces which the guests can discover for themselves, and a set of unique lighting solutions which creates an exploratory guest experience. Building on the latest scientific discoveries relating to the human physiological response to light, we used circadian lighting to change colour temperatures and reinvent the spaces throughout the day. Having bright daylight during the day will most generously create a vibrant and stimulating ambience helping the guests to wake up and start their day with positive energy. This shifts through the later hours and eventually turns towards warm, sexy candlelight during the night promoting more relaxed and intimate feel, allowing to unwind.
